max3110e in india

Hello

I have to develop a board with three serial ports based on a PIC 18 chip.
(with receive and transmit interupt capability)

preferabily PIC18F4550 or any other 5 volt PIC18 with DIP versions.

Which is the optimum method you can suggest?

please suggest

The MAX3110E is a SPI to UART IC with built in level converter (like a MAX232).

Three of these would work as the 18F4550 cannot use the UART and the SPI at the same time (they share I/O pins)

Hi

Thanks a lot for the post. Seems viable for me except large footprint.

This chip comes with lot of configurable options I think, SPI ,microwire etc.

Do we have any other small pin count chips for the purpose?

Thanks again
