Waveguide Filter : WR90

F0=9.5GHz
BW=20MHz
Insertion Loss : Max. 0.5dB
Rejection : Min. 15dB @ F0 +/- 40MHz
VSWR : Max. 1.3

I want to realize it.

I failed of success.

Let me know, please.

Thank you.

Many technologies exists, one of the less lossy is the HTS , but practically, for less exotic tecnologies like lumped, tubolar, cavity etc, i suggest to look to the market.
For example, on K&L catalog, you'll find a parameter called LOSS FACTOR

LF= Loss(dB) * BW% / (N+0.5)

BW% = 3 dB bandwidth expressed in percent with respect central freq.
N= number of sections (in some cases a section is a pole)

Then compare if your LF is comparable (read ≥) to the filter leader company. If yes, so your filter is possible to build.

0.5dB IL......is not easy to get....even some of the existing filter in industry also get about 1 or 2 dB.....

Thank you for your reply.

I tried the fabrication. The structure is a inductive iris filter about n=3 and n=4.

The sample was fabricated .. 2 SET.

I got measurement data.

case n=3, insertion loss is 1dB and 0.8dB.
case n=4, insertion loss is 0.65dB and 0.75dB.

Material is an aluminum and plating is silver plate.

I want to know limit value.

So I don't try an other sturcture. But also I have design data for metal insert waveguide filter(e-plane).

I'm afraid to fail for my target, 0.5 dB.

Now, I don't know what to do.

maybe cylindrical cavity will have higer Q factor,you can think about cylindrical cavity fiter.or you can think about dielectric resonator filters.
But the passband is so narrow and IL is so little....
