Thermal Imager Instruments

Hi,

Now a days, there is a new technology tool promoted by some mfgs. about Thermal Imager which basically used for measuring the termperature of the metalic devices.

Can anybody let me know for what all application this Thermal Imager can be used. also, is there any papers available for such applications?..what are the major players of such instruments?

Thermal imagers are a perfect tool for electronic circuit and particularly power electric and electronics development, test and service. They can e.g. immediately identify defective parts that overheat. Or check the observance of maximum device temperatures.
