At present I'm dealing with the problem of the simulation of VCO and mixer.
SpectreRF is used to simulate the two blocks. The up-converter mixer has the RF input of 1Mhz and the VCO input of 1GHz. I use pss to watch the spectrum of the output of the mixer.
But I wonder what value I fill in the "beat frequency" in pss option. It was reported error whatever I use "1M', "1G" or other frequencies. pss has to calculate the beat frequency firstly, but the whole circuit has two periodic signals with the 1MHz ideal signal and the VCO's output 1GHz signal.
So I don't know whether SpectreRF can realize the VCO block plus mixer block.
Do I have to use ADS to simulate them?
Thanks, everyone!

1MHz should be the correct value. What the error is? Probably it's caused by other problems.
Also you can try QPSS ananlysis.
