Groupdelay variations

Hi.
The meaning of Groupdelay variations and Group delay from MATLAB by function "GRPDELAY(Num,Den)" the Y axis of scale is show groupdelay (sample) . What difference of two meaning
thank.
 

OK! Matlab is showing the group delay for you digital filter, as a function of samples. ...
... would you please describe more, what do you mean?

I dont really know how it works exacly in MATLAB, but...
usually the meaning of group delay is the delay that a signal (with some freq. components) undergoes passing through some sistem. This is not really important, while the group delay variation or ripple is more interesting because represents how the different harmonics are delayed from the sistem, degrading the quality of the signal itself.
I hope that this not is useful.
