different Buffers

hello.

there r two types of buffer one high speed buffer and other low speed buffer.

high speed buffer is used to resolve setup issues while low speed buffer is used for hold time issues, if i am rgt.

now whats the difference betwn both buffers ? highlight on this

thanks in advance,
Prasad

different Buffers

they should have different transitor size there fore different drive strength, you can see it in the cdl part(spice for LVS) in your library.

different Buffers

their only differences are W/L and W*L, the larger W/L, the stronger drive strength, the smaller W*L, the higher speed

different Buffers

good problem and also good answer!!

Added after 15 minutes:

when compiling using DC,we can use the slow lib to solve the setup time issus and use the fast lib to slove the hold issue!!!

different Buffers

But we often use delay-line to solve hold time issue, not buffer
