can someone give the circuit of an phase comparator both analog and digital
i was able to get the circuits of the various blocks of a PLL except that of a phase comparator

analog phase comparator

Take a look at the datasheet for the 74HC4046. www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/MC74HC4046A-D.PDF
The simplest digital comparator is the XOR gate. More complicated ones use edge-triggered flip-flops.

For the analog one, look at the datasheet for the LM565: **broken link removed**
and this appnote: www.national.com/an/AN/AN-46.pdf#page=7

Essentially, the analog phase detector is an analog multiplier.[/i]

use lm565 as phase comparator

Razavi's analog IC book has this kind of circuits, and also many PLL books have such circuit
