tools silicon validation

Hi,
What is the difference between system validation and silcon validation?

thanks in advance

I think silicon validation means the IP has been used in production without problem.

the first is to do system functional verification
and the second is to do manufacture testing

Silicon validation means performing all types of tests on silicon to make sure that it can go for packaging which includes functional tests, manufacturing, current ,voltage measurements.
Where as system validation is pre silicon process.

i think silicon validation means getting the ipcore fabricated in a foundary and proving your design on silicon while as system validation means putting your design in a programmable device and testing it

Regards
