Hi all,

Can anyone quote me a reference ( paper/article/book ) on symmetries in EM. I am basically interested in predicting whatever information the symmetries can provide about EM modes without actually solving for the Maxwell''s equations. ( Example : if a metallic cavity has inversion symmetry then H(-r)=±H(r) ) Thanks for listening.

Dear svarun,
You may check the book by J. D. Jackson... it is a classics in Electrodynamics.
