For given large combinational or sequentail gate level circuit, how can I calculate total switching transitions (0->1 and 1->0) provided that two input vectors in sequence.
Kindly suggest one efficient idea so that I can implement it effectively

You have to do post-synthesis simulation get vcd or saif and then annotate switching activity information back to DC by using command read_saif if you have saif or use utility vcd2saif and then annotate into DC..
For furture info read power compiler manual

hi,

perform simualtions, dumpout vcd file, and write a script whivh take the vcd file as input and parses that between dompon and dumpoff to find total transitions, divide that by no of clk cycles and total number of nets ull get the switching activity.
hope this helps
