hi

i want to interface some switches to the AVR...

i came out to something like this (the Resistance value is 4.7 k,and VCC=5V,) for a pushbutton, and a normal close switch, all i need is the led should be on if switch is pushed, i can manage with change in the logic at GPIO,

but the normal closed switch circuit would be dissipating lots of energy... can some one give me better circuits...

Hi...U can configure an another port to be as input...and make it read the switch...& accordingly set the relevant LED on other port , to be ON/OFF...

thats the problem ... i dont have any other pins avilable...

what i ask is would this configuration burn up alot of current? is there any way to minimse the current... in the push to make its ok i just use power when switch is presed... but in normal closed its using 10mA all the time 5/2K7
