I have a SVGA SONY projector. Anybody knows a good chemical/method to clean or polish the projector screen panel??. I have analised it and it seems that is made of a thin aluminiun coat, specially brushed not to reflect the projector RGB tubes.

Well I do not know the name of the product, but I know that BARCO has a kit for optical cleaning. They are leaders in videoprojectors. Please try to contact a BARCO dealer in your country, he could help you.

good luck!

I appreciate your help, but my problem is with the projector panel, a surface where the appliance projects its image, some sort of large screen coated with aluminiun or something. The problem is that the coating is deteriorated/rugged and the images are not so clear. I could project directly to a wall by the result won't be good. I need to polish that surface in a fine way, not as mirror, so the tubes of the SONY doesn't appear reflected. Help please..

MY METHOD
STRIP OUT THE PANEL
MILD WASHING UP LIQUID SOLUTION WITH HOT WATTER

THROTH IT WITH YOUR HAND
EMERSE THE PANEL
LEAVE FOR FIVE MINS

DONT PLAY WITH THE SURFACE

USE A MAKUP BRUSH ONE FOR THER CHEEKS BIG AND FAT
WELL WETTED
AND CAREFULLY WIPE THE SURFACE WITH COPIOUS AMOUTNS OF SOLUTION

THEN RUN UNDER THE COLD TAP

TO FINNISH AND TO AVOID A SMEER

SIT IN A WARM PLACE VERTICALY
AND PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER WHEN DRY

DONT USE IPA OR ALCHOHAL
OR OTHER THAN WARM SOAPY WATER THEN COLD

LIKE A BEAR GLASS
AS IPA WILL STRIP THE SURFACE PLATE

WATCH KITS THEY ARE FULL OF NASTIES BUT A GOOD IDEA FOR NON LCD PANEL DISPLAYS or reflectors

with this coating it is fairly heat proof
so 40 degree water and washing up liquid

this will be ok

ah i read again

hehe
ok then you can restore the thin coat ?

use a mirror is it flat
you can get a thin heatproof glass mirror
if it is brushed
it is fu+c+ed
so you need a replacement my pal

so its rottenfish im afraid

i used one for display once and i used
a egypton cotton sheet 10 / 10 feet

this is very bright

but its hell to keep clean
but very bright as good as the screen
i see what it is your on about

an ordinary projector screen will do

you can pick them up in junk shops for nothing or very little
