I want to make a simple volt meter with some components for my UPS monitoring ranging from 0.00V to 25.00V.
Can any one suggest a very simple one.

easy volt

You can get much information from the internet.

yap I have already tried but could not get what I want. If you know any one plz tell me the site.

eazy volt

I am not sure, whether Volt meter with 2 significant figure precision will consist of just a few components.
I don't know if there's an voltmeter IC available, that can make your circuit with least number of component.
Here's some one circuit.

As an advice, why don't you just buy the ready made Volt meter, they are cheap though, including both analog + digital.

this is a good suggestion but I want on 89C51 or 89S51, I want to experient this project that is why I dont want to buy it.

You can have another option of using ICL7106, its a complete Volt meter and easily available. It is for LCD display and for LED display you can use ICL7107.

ENJOY!

mini voltmeter

89C51 or 89S51 doesn't have A/D. So you really can't use this as voltmeter, It doesn't have A/D.You have to do conversion externally from the MCU.

ic voltmeter

ac/dc?

We all didn't notice that :)

I think he might be using 2 * 12 V batteries=24Volt DC. Mostly found in UPS system. So maybe he want's to measure from 0-25V. I think this voltage level refer to the DC voltages of the battery.

Thats right,,, I am using it in UPS for the battery level check. My mean aim is to understand that how uc works with A/D in volt meter and current meter. I really want to use an external A/D network with Atmel 8051.

easy volt ii

You first hook up your MCU with A/D converter.Do some test on it. Write your code with help from it, use multi turn Potentiometer for various Analog voltage.
Remember, for current measurement you need to do Current-Voltage conversion.

easy voltmeter

in 2051 u can used analog compartor to measure the votage

avr voltmeter

You can build it by just using ICL7107 IC avilable at any component vendors. refer the datasheet where you will find an easy application schematic of the same. On the other hand you go for a ready to assemble kit with all the components, PCB and description, designed with the same IC, available at www.united77.com/projects.htm.

voltmeter ic

you can use ADC from AVR, before that you must process the signal using volt divider

8051 ic voltmeter

you want to monitor UPS or the battery in the UPS ??
If its battery then I am thinking just voltage may not be enough, you have check the current given out or taken in by the UPS...

you need to use an appropriate shunt for this

thanks
