about the laptop

I plan to buy a new laptop but i am worry about the Linux installation .
The new model of laptop is not easy to install the Linux and EDA . Does any could recommend the new type laptop ?

How about the IBM X60 ? Have any one used ?

How about the RHE 4.0 ? Have any one used ? (Synopsys , Cadence IC5141 ....)

about the laptop

Laptops: Dell M50 or M60. Or, IBM A31p

OS: RHEL 3

You can try RHEL 4 but it has a newer libc and 2.6, so some things might not worth with it yet. Eventually RHEL 4 will be the baseline.

Re: about the laptop

Well, I agree with gliss……. Dell is a good choice; just make sure you have two partitions on your HD :D
