suggestion about PHP ??

Hi guys, i needed complete guidance to be a PHP developer. please suggest me some e-books and other books also. I am aware to only C language and my last program that i write myself is SORTING. now U know about my background, so pls guide me that what steps i have to taken and what period required for this hard.
