Suggest me a microcontroller with a cheap programmer

Hello all,

I'm trying to design a control system for my graduate project, I'm very new to microcontrollers and microprocessors and have no experince. Could any body please tell me how to start and any guide lines or advises.

I hade a look in the market and found that the available parts are 8052, 8085, 80C31,89C55, 89C51, 89C52, 89C2051 and 8751. I have problem finding a cheap programmer so I need an easy to build with free software programmer from the net.

any help will be very appreciated.
