I'm working on a project.. a security type lock using a fingerprint scanner..

I'm new to microcontrollers and currently studying about them, is there any way to create a storage or database for "Fingerprints" and atleast "4-6 combination password" using PIC18F84A.. I was thinking of using a USB Flash drive.

Can anyone give me tips or ideas on where I should start? :-|

Can use a microSD card to store finger prints. password can be store in PIC.

hum the pic18f84a doesnt exists...
don't you really use a 16f84a ???
in that case this pic if far too old and too small to do this project...

sorry.. I meant 16f84a engshahrul gave a good link thanks for that.. but now I want to know if I can create a program just like that using Flow Code v3 ?

you dont have enought memory on a 16f84a
please switch to a pic 18 first !

engshahrul, can you give me the model of your fingerprint reader?
