can anybody help me with my project?

i need to make a stopwatch using logic gates/ic but ive got no idea how to
i know i need a 555 timer and 7 segment display CA but what else do i need?
or can anybody give me a diagram that i can follow?

i only need 2 7 segment display. so the stop watch would just be 1 - 99 but i really dont have any idea how to do this

it should also have a start, stop and reset button. but how can i do that?

ive already read a previous thread about this but its way too complicated for me.

please help me. sorry :(
