in designing a vco, the stability factor of the transistor used is 1.001 at the center frequency, is it ok? or should i decrease it?

Re: stability factor

Hi,

you should try to get it below 1. In addition, look at where the s11 lies on the smith chart. Can the load be designed to satisfy the oscillation conditions?

Calculate the vco based on textbook method. Then sim in ADS or other CAD s/w to ensure that stable osc osccurs.
