Hi,
I am planning to design two PCBs. One PCB will have ARM controller which will act as a SPI master. Another PCB will have 9 smart switches which has multiple slaves (SPI).

Is it possible to push SPI communication outside the main PCB with high speed(maximum clock frequency of 6.6 MHz)data transmission to all the slaves continuously?
Any design challenge is here and if you have any sample schematic, please share it for my reference.

I just want to send the data, no reception from slave is required.

I hope you understand my question. let me know your inputs.

Hello!

Yes, it's possible. I made a motherboard, and used a sensor at the end of a 1m cable, and I was
driving the whole stuff at 12.5Mz. However, it will depend on the max frequency of the slaves.
As it was a sensor, it was mostly reception. Sending data of course was used to tune the sensor's
internal registers.

Dora.

Hi Dora,
You meant to say that gap between MCU(Master) and sensor(Slave) is 1 meter on board?
Or Two PCBs one with sensor another with MCU, now gap between these two PCBs is one meter?

Hello!

MOTHERBOARD----------------------------1m cable------------------------------------SENSOR

Is it clearer like this?
The cable is 6-way, (VCC, GND, CS, CLK, MOSI, MISO).

That's it.

Dora.
