spartan 3e interface with laptop

I want to interface my spartan 3e kit using rs-232 ports.
Basically I want to have my data from FPGA to my laptop .
I have no idea what to do.Any help would be very helpful
any source code or anything

Hi,

obviously you need hardware, code for the FPGA and software for the PC.
Additionally you need the correct communication setup for both FPGA and PC. (Baud rate, protoco parameters...)

Your question is too general to be answered.
Ask specific questions.

Hardware is simple: Look for RS232 level converter ICs and read the datasheet. It usually tells you all.
