This tv sony model KV1292M3 is in my use for long time without any problem. last day i turned if of after some when i turned it ON its screen remained dark for long time than usual. after the screen was bright the picture was small on all sides and from upper side only 3 inch normal display, the remianing screen was much less bright . after few minutes the whole screen comes back to normal, but picture size remains small. tried all settings. It changes the size but never gets full screen. need repair tips.

I don,t know much about repairing TV. But i have moderate experience in repairing some other electronics. And i have good experience as hobbiest.

thanks.

HI

Power supply IC STR50115 may be faulty or some componets get dryjonted. Your fault leads to low Voltage. It shouldbe 115V D.C.

If you do not know much about the TV, i would suggest to get a service technician. The TV has some very high voltages. Dont try to open it unless you are trained to do so.

STR seems to be Ok. Found too many dry solder joints. Touched them with soldering iron, turned the power on and there goes a variable resistor from CRT display control section(smoke).Changed it and found a capacitor about to explode in same section, next some others kept on smoking or poping untill solved the problem.

Needed to replace the connector for CRT inputs. Not an easy job.
