Hi all,

Plz clarify my doubts:

1. In opcondn, i find that tree_type: balanced_tree? means ..?
2. What will happen when presto is on or off?
3. What is purpose of link library and uniquify command?
4. When we are going for analyze/elaborate and read_hdl command? (Reading files)
5. In what manner we have to choose set_wire_load mode as top, enclosed and segmented?
6. Explain set_fanout_load? means in DC command?

Thanks n adv

Din

Re: Some DC question

Hi,
With the latest version of DC you dont need to use uniquify command
the link library path is where DC looks for resolving the references in your design, whether a netlist or an RTL
For wire_load_mode settings

Mode top ignores lower level wire load models. Use this mode if your design will be layed out flat

Mode enclosed uses the lowest-level WLM(wire load model) that completely encloses the net. It is less pessimistic than the top mode are and more realistic for a design that will be layed out hierarchically.

Mode segmented is not recommended because it tends to give optimistic results. It elects a WLM for each segment of a net that fans out in a different WLM area.

You need to understand what your physical layout will look like to determine the best mode to use.

Thanks
Prasad.
