User “piotr_go” presents his project of a soldering station controller with a PID control. In many cases LCD displays are used. Here, instead of a LCD display, 7-segmented LED displays. A pulse generator serves to control them.. An immersion heater used is PENSOL 24 V 48 W z K-type thermocouple, transformer 2*12 V 50 W.
Functioning:
When turned right – it increases temperature and when turned left – it decreases temperature; the pulse generator is pressed and held – saving settings. Control range is 100-450 degrees.
The LED diode indicates that the immersion heater is operating.
The displays were assembled the other way round on purpose, the dots are supposed to indicated different functions that has not been addend yet.
Because of the fact that the positive voltage regulators are overheating a bit, it is recommended to affix any heat sink made of a strip of an aluminum metal sheet to them.
