Hi all

What software do people use for drawing circuits in Linux when writing reports or papers?

Thanks

drawing circuits for papers

OpenOffice Draw.

Make some symbols of your own (shape and size you like) then it's mostly copy/paste. I guess there are better programs for that but I've never searched for any.

rules for drawing circuits

Currently I don't generally have to put cicuits into reports, but i would be trying to cut and paste from a 'proper' schematic drawing program.

Try geda (gschem), kicad, ksimus, oregano... all of which should work and be easier to use than a traditional drawing program.

If the question is really about block diagrams or flow diagrams, which are different, then something like kivio would be easiest.

programs used for drawing circuits

I am sure my reply to this post is wierd, since you are talking about linux. Use Microsoft visio for drawing circuits, its really good. I used it for my projects and it helped me a lot.

dia drawing circuits

For linux there is DIA, the aim of the program is to draw diagrams, it's similar to visio.

There is also xcircuit for drawing circuits but I've only tried it for a couple of minutes .... I think it takes some time to get used to it
