Hi, I am working on a PCB sample (beginner level) which contain several SMD capacitor. Obviously the problem is I don't know the value! Moreover this smd caps have no code written over them. They just vary in color and size.
Now I have read pretty much every post related to "finding the smd cap value" and got disappointed as there is no way to find the value without an LCR meter (or other too much complex way)!
As those posts are too OLD, I thought maybe now someone can tell me something new about finding SMD capacitor value and related SMD package data.
N.B: I have got an LCR meter and I don't wanna use it.
Hi, you'll have to measure them. If the caps are ceramic type, probably there's nothing written on them. Using the dielectric color you could guess the capacitance range, but this is not reliable since there's no standard for that. What I would do is to take out each one of the caps and measure with the LCR meter.
Ahh ok, I guess I can measure the value but how I can get the smd package detail, I mean is there any standard datasheet just only to measure package detail? Thanks.
