Small project help ("Autamation" electronic gate opening at Home)

Hi All,
I'll describe you my wish and the way/s I can handle it and please give me advices.

So, I have an electronic gate in my Home, which I want to open by calling to specific cell phone number\landline number.
I have a remote control for opening this gate and I'm pretty I'm going to need it by sending to it signals to open the gate

Now, I'm a C# developer and know how to handle SQL Server Data bases.
I want specific numbers to have the permission to open the gate by calling this number.

So, please help me
even a general Ideas of how to approach this would be great.
