what are the skills that VLSI and Embedded companies look out for in the joiners?...
do the companies give training to enhance the skills or its better to take up courses prior to applying to any company?
 

It is better to take courses in:
1- Computer Architecture: ARM is a good example
2- Programming Language: C is most dominating
3- RTOS: you can check www.embedded-tips.blogspot.com for tutorials
