I want to make simple frequency converter for single phase induction motor.
General idea:
1. MCU is brain (some PIC)
2. Input of MCU is analog reference value.
3. Output is PWM signal for driving power mosfet bridge.
4. Type of regulation: U/f
Does someone has similar example, advice, sch or so?
Thanks in advance.
I'll share my finall (hopefully working) project to everyone.
The problem starts with the term single phase induction motor. It doesn't exist as such, cause an induction motor absolutely needs a rotating field and some means to generate it. There are mainly split pole and capacitor motors. The latter is actually a two-phase motor, that should be driven by a two or three phase inverter, to achieve a suitable VFD operation. There's a profound Microchip application note, that has been often quoted in this forum, showing a solution. A split pole motor generally has very limited VFD capabilities.
