sim900 EVB AT command problem

my sim900 evb board is not responding AT commands. when i switch on board i can see RDY and CPIN ready messages but when i send AT commands it does not respond.
when i call the module i can see RING message but when i send any AT command module does not respond.
i have already changed three usart cables and double checked baud rate

can any one help.
