SIM300Z module question

I've just received my SIM300Z module but I havn't built a board for it yet.

I did notice on the back of this board that there are several copper pads that appear like test points or breakouts of signals.

Does anyone know what these are? It might be helpful if I was able to play with this module a bit using these pads prior to building a board with a connector on it.

I've attached a picture I found on the web that shows the pads I'm speaking of. Its a 300 and mine is a 300z. Not sure the differences but the pads look similar.
