i am having 20 core shield wire, the shield wire carry data from different sensors. my doubt is that the shielded part of the wire must be connected to earth ground (the center part of 3 pin power socket) or ov (- gnd) of smps.

kindly help

regards
kalyan

Hi,
Shield to be connected to the center part of 3 pin power socket. Not on the Return path of the Power Supply (SMPS). If your SMPS is a separate Box, you can connect shield to Body of the SMPS in mating connectors Hood.
