Setting Control Bit 5(Parallel Interfacing)

Hi...

One direction to make a data control birectional is to set control bit 5 high. i've done it many times, but still it does not work. How would i set or write the code using c++ language. I humbly appreciate any help...

Before coding check if your parallel port allows bidirectional data,
Also you can use this software to check if the C++ code you made works or not.
 

first check ur bios setting, that might be the pbm
use a buffer 74LS244 before inport data
