Hello,

I am working on a servo driver design project. When i was searching for servo drivers and their specs. i realised that some of them have in addition to encoder and auxiliary encoder additional input which named "high-speed position latch input".

Actually i couldn't understand the purpose and how to use it.

When i searched internet i found some flip-flop hardwares about latching a signal in order to decrease power consumption but make no sense.

I think this input is for counting high speed clocks but not sure.

Can you please tell me what it is for and where people use it. Do i need it?

Here is an datasheet that i found it. it is at dedicated inputs seciton.

Thank You
