serial port max speed.

what is the maximum speed that serial port can handle.
 

I assume you're referring to RS232 serial port. Windows PC achieve 115k with on-board hardware. Although the hardware usually can handle 230k and 460k, this isn't supported by standard Windows driver. USB serial adapters (e. g. from FTDI) can usually handle up to 920k standard and optionally user defined baud rates.

according to this software I have super I/o controller which supports 480kbps....
 

115200bps is max speed on every Motherboard
