Serial Communication with Hcs08

I have been working rs232 communication with hcs08.I have selected 9600 baud rate .the problem is whenever load the program to controller and run with debugger I am getting proper value in hyper terminal.if I remove the debugger and run I get only jung character continously in hyper terminal.I dont know the reason...any one tell the solutuion.....
 

Which microcontroller are you using.?
If you would please upload the screenshot(s) of the debugger and hyper terminal in action,that would be helpful.
