Sending Serial data from PC to 8051

Hi Guys!
I am going to send data serially from pc to 8051 and from that commands i can control motor or leds... Is it possible or not? Or how can i implement all this?
I have attached the simulation image.. Just guide me in this procedure, i am very confused..

You don't need the MAX232 in the Proteus simulation, further more if you do use it, it will invert the signal lines.

I am here to be educated, I have recently done a PIC to RS232 using Proteus. The IO of the serial connector in Proteus is TTL with non inverted data, not RS232, or is Proteus intelligent and corrects for this if you use a MAX232? (I have not tried this)
