Hi Guys,
In EDA field, there is a need for one to know the scripting techniques ( such as perl,tcl/tk etc..,) where there is much stress on Tool Automation. Here is a useful document that takes you to the tour of scripting world...A very useful document...

Python is a pretty good choise to develop script.
1. it is free
2. it is OO
3. There are tons of person use and contribute to python
4. it is platform-free
