What is the use of SCRAMBLER & INTERLEAVER in a digital communication system ?

interleaving method used in the Gsm and Gprs system to a void the fast fading. however the scrambling method used in the WCDMA system which used to separate between users ( each user have a different code is code is call scrambling code )
