Hi,

I am scoping the high side gate drive of a 230VAC half-bridge converter.

Its a bootstrap high side drive provided by a NCP5181, so its not a gate drive transformer output.

Anyway, my load is highly transient, and goes off for long periods, even when its on it tends to go off quickly...no-load to full load , and vice versa.

I am worried about the bootstrap capacitor discharging too low during the load-off periods.

So i want to scope the high side fet gate with reference to its own source.

This source of the top fet is going up and down from 330V to 0v.

So i wonder is it ok to use a 100:1 probe for this job?

-or must i use a Diffeerential Probe.?
