SCART to Plasma VGA help please!

I have been given an OLD Philips 32DF9944 plasma screen to play with. Unfortunately it did not come with the tuner/connection box, so only has a 15pin VGA input. Works fine as a computer monitor but would like to connect DVD player etc. to it.
I have seen Syncblaster cables but have seen a DIY version somewhere, cant find it now though.
Also cant find any info about Sync settings for this screen.
Any sugestions gratefully accepted(as long as they are cheap)
