Hi.

I got a dashboard from Scania R series, it is the ICL D1 version. The problem is with the speedometer needle jumping and freezing, and the display not working. I resoldered part of the board and the display now works, but the speedometer still jumps. Could someone share at least the pinout of the connector for ICL D1?

I downloaded one paid diagram supposedly for the entire R series, it turned out that it only applies to IDL D2, so it is useless for me, after viewing the previev of other paid files I conclude that it is the same so I do not want to pay for useless files again :)

It sounds like a bad connection or faulty stepper motor in the speedometer. For the ICL D1 pinout, you might have better luck checking Scania workshop manuals or forums like MHH Auto or TruckDiag. If resoldering didn’t fix it, try replacing the stepper motor or checking signal wires for issues. Good luck!

If you have the equipment, might check the
speed sensor input to see if it's the cause of
flakiness.

Cable speedos used to jump a lot if you let
the cable get sticky or dry.

Problem solved, a gear fell out in the speedometer motor. A bit strange, because I once disassembled this motor and assembled it, it seemed to be correct. Another disassembly and assembly helped. Interesting case. Not having the pinout, I partially ruled out the problem with the speed signal, because the tachograph worked correctly. Thanks to everyone :)
