Hello guys

I am new to MATLAB. I wanna convert a speech signal (analog) into digital form. How I can do it in MATLAB? I have read the speech signal in MATLAB using y=wavread('filename') that gives me the amplitude (data) and sampling frequency (fs) of the original signal recorded in. could anybody help me.
A quick response is highly appreciated.

Thanks
BR

If you have a wave file, the signal is already sampled with the sampling rate fs given in the file. If you can store it in a file, it is not an analog signal anymore since it is quantized in time and amplitude...
