Can anybody explain me what is meant by sampling rate of a DAC (Digital to analog Converter). Where is sampling done in DAC and what is the purpose of it?

DSP

The idea is trying to connect a set of points to form a line Amninder.
Sampling is the first step of both ADC and DAC
more the number of points better the representation.
the line would be more accurate.
The steps include
1. Sampling
2. Approximation
3. Addition

Re: DSP

ADC generates a set of points (voltage levels) to represent analog signal, these points are sampled (taken or measured) at fixed time intervals, i.e 10 samples per second(sampling rate) means taking sample at every 0.1 second.
Now the actual answer of your question:
DAC joins these samples to form an analog signal. but it requires the time information. i.e DAC asks :for generating 1 second of signal how many samples are required?
therefore sampling rate tells the DAC to join 10 samples every 1 second to form analog signal.
i hope its clear now.
