We all know that by ascending in the ventral model, features become more complex and more specifically, the receptive field RF increases in each layer...
I know well what is doing in S1 and C1 layers, but i have some difficulties to understand the concept of S2 and C2 layers.
According to the attached image below, you will find a small definition of the two layers (S2 and C2). My problem is that i didn't understand well the concept. So i am very interested if someone can give me a serious example and explain me the concept in a more simple way.
