Running a dual core chip OS-less

Hello,

Is it possible to run a dual (or more) core system without an OS ?
For example - an IC with 2 Cortex A9 CPUs inside that. Each CPU runs independently from one another.

In principle: yes. If you've got a board that includes such chip & you power it up, it starts executing code, right? All you'd have to do is put your own code in the right place.

In practice: as soon as you want to do anything interesting/useful with a dual-core chip, you'll need an OS of sorts anyway. If with "OS-less" you mean "not any existing OS, just my own code" then you're really saying "spin my own OS". Certainly possible, but there's few reasons to do so these days... :smile:
