hi friends,

is it possible to communicate with a GSM modem and a microcontroller separately from a PC.??both of these require RS232 interface.. do we have two ports in PC for the purpose??

pls do help me out since i'm woefully ignorant about the RS232 communication in PC...

thanks

Hi,
Yes it is possible. Youi can use an AT or Pic Microcontroller, the FBUS, and the AT command for communication.

thanks...!

do we have to use FBUS protocol?? with AT commands??
sorry.. i have jus started to learn AT commands and i'm not familiar with the communication....

pls help....

Added after 1 minutes:

alos we have 2 DB9 connector ports in PC?? for serial communication??

First of all, my friend I propose to you to make a search in this forum. There is a lot of materials and threads talking about At command and interfacing in the context that you need.
So Study them first and I'll help you if you have a problem.
