root locus basic question

does the part of the root locus on the real axis is not dependant on the poles and zeroes which are not on the real axis.......??
 

Looking at a graph the Left (negative X-range) is the imaginary or stable side and the right side (positive X) is the unstable side.
 

I don`t understand your question.
The root locus is the curve which connects the pole positions of a transfer function as a function of various gain values.
