Oh~ It's very interesting topic....
I'm a member of developers a hovering robot like you think....
Unfortunately, I'm a newbie and poor at the system of flying robot...
So I hardly have something to tell you about the system...
I think that....
First of all, any flying system should have stability to maintain a pose..
To obtain this property, flying robot should has mechanically stability of flying...
If not, the system should have extremely fast controller and control period...
If control period were few msec, we can estimate the calculation performance...
Having a heavy calculation performance, there are no choices except DSPs...
In this point, we should know that..
-of course, a faster system is better than a slower system.
but how fast controller system we uses is not more important than how stable
mechanical system we designs.
if mechanical stability were guaranteed, the others will be determined spontaneously....
