Hi Folks,

I have general knowledge regarding RFIDs. But I have never implemented the same practically.
Now its time to implement the RF ID to track patients.
Can you please help me out in designing this?

"Track Patients" What does it mean?

RFID have only limited range..

For employees in the hospital who face dangerous situation / uncomfortable in the psychiatric ward. When given an alarm, hospital staff can help their colleague. Added to that, to track the activities of the mental patients.

If you have one RFID reader for each room you could locate the RFID tag on a per room basis.
A PC controlling the RFID readers could then keep track of the RFID tags / persons.
You have to make sure that the RFID tags could be read in the whole room from the reader (when the tag is attached to a person).

Hi,

Can you please elaborate more in detail?
I mean how to select/design an antenna, transpoder, transceiver etc....
